"ACCEPT THE THINGS TO WHICH FATE BINDS YOU,
AND LOVE THE PEOPLE WITH WHOM FATE BRINGS YOU TOGETHER,
BUT DO SO WITH ALL YOUR HEART."

Let the herd do the work.
@liberty is a unique collaboration designed to support women who have experienced breast cancer through at liberty horse training. This practice involves working with horses without ropes or reins, using only vocal cues, gestures, and body language. The program fosters connection, confidence, and resilience, providing both physical and emotional healing.
Inspired by Kellie Kvern, a horsewoman with metastatic breast cancer, and in a collaboration with This Old Horse, @liberty offers participants a therapeutic and empowering experience with horses. The program is open to individuals with or without prior horse experience, allowing them to engage at their comfort level. Liberty work is done from the ground, ensuring accessibility while still providing meaningful interaction.
Horses offer powerful therapeutic benefits, helping individuals navigate both the physical and psychological challenges of cancer recovery. Research has shown that equine therapy improves strength, fitness, and mental well-being. The bond between participants and horses fosters a sense of trust, hope, and empowerment.
By spending time with horses, participants experience a holistic approach to healing, learning valuable lessons in trust, patience, and perseverance. Through this journey, women gain perspective, build resilience, and embrace the present alongside their equine partners in a supportive and uplifting environment.

I'm one hundred percent sure that the phrase I've said more than any other in my life is; "I'm going to the barn" - along with the variations of "I'm at the barn." & "I'm just about to leave the barn." the last of which, while never an intentional lie, is usually a mistruth nonetheless. Sound familiar?!
I began my photography career chasing wild Breyer Horses over our carpeted stairs and across our snow swept yard. In high school I got a 35mm film camera and my goal was to become a National Geographic photographer by age twenty two. While that matter pends, I do shoot regularly for Horse Illustrated and Young Rider magazines. I worked as an assistant photographer for Coady Photography at Churchill Downs, Keeneland and as the lead photographer at Presque Isle Downs. My work has been featured in Hoof Beats Magazine, Afar Travel Magazine and The Guardian.
I've always combined my passion for horses into everything else I do, when I went to University in Beijing for Fine Art, I arranged for a program to work in Inner and then Outter Monglia working with breeders and racers of Monglian Ambling horses. I trained at the Yorkshire Riding Center and took the British Horse Society exams, to level 4. I'm currently based in my home state of Minnesota where I care for my family and a cash menagerie of 4 rescue ponies, 2 dogs and 2 birds.
